Empowering Communities

Our Mission
At Arkansas Civic Action Network, we believe democracy is strongest when every Arkansan has the tools and confidence to take part. That is why we work to make civic life clear and accessible, connecting people with reliable information, practical skills, and meaningful opportunities for action. By linking communities with one another and with decision-makers, we create spaces where questions can be asked, ideas can be tested, and solutions can be built together. Our commitment to honesty, inclusion, and accountability guides every effort, because when people are informed and engaged, they shape not only policy but also the future of Arkansas.
Arkansas Civic Action Network has engaged thousands of Arkansans in civic life through education, workshops, and community projects. We partner with schools, libraries, and grassroots organizations to reach people where they are, providing them with practical skills and reliable information. From helping first-time voters feel at home in the polling booth to mentoring students as they launch community-based projects, our work translates ideas into action. By building bridges between communities and decision makers, we help turn civic participation into lasting change.

Arkansas Volunteer Canvasser Guide
This guide is a joint undertaking of the Arkansas Civic Action Network (ArkCAN) and the Public Policy Center at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture (PPC). Together, we are committed to protecting the integrity of Arkansas’s citizen-led initiative and referendum process.

Canvasser Affidavit
As part of Arkansas’s citizen-led initiative and referendum process, state law requires every canvasser to file a sworn affidavit with the Arkansas Secretary of State. This affidavit certifies that the canvasser has complied with the Arkansas Constitution and all applicable state laws governing canvassing, including those related to perjury, forgery, and fraudulent practices, during the current election cycle.

LWVAR - Government in Arkansas Textbook
The signature publication of the League of Women Voters of Arkansas, Government in Arkansas explains the structure and functions of Arkansas government. Among its 10 chapters are overviews of Arkansas’ constitution, branches of government, institutions of political influence, elections, and noteworthy issues. A brief comparative analysis of Arkansas and other states concludes each chapter. Background information on the state’s political history and women’s suffrage movement is also provided.
